Discussion Questions: Week Thirteen

2). What was your favorite thing about the class?  What was your least favorite thing about the class?  How can this class be improved?  Again, be specific.

My favorite thing about this class was even though there was tons of reading it was not complex reading so it made this class rather tolerable since there isn't a professor lecturing means more reading on your own. Another favorite thing about this class was it was actually very informative and I had acquired a vast new range of vocabulary. My least favorite thing about this class is how the start day is at Sunday rather than Monday. I know we begin our days on Sunday but class tends to start my Monday so sometimes I would forget to post a discussion question due to the 12 hour rule. I wish the class started its day on Monday rather than Sunday so it will be the same as the student's schedule without the student having to mentally set up a different schedule. That is mainly my only dislike regarding this class which is the beginning and ending time. Thank you! :)

  1. Hey:) I agree that the reading was very manageable, despite how lengthy some readings were. They were overall easy to understand and did not stress myself out too much. This is a nice approach to online classes because I always hear from other students that online classes will be hard because of all the reading and concepts that are too complex. The book, along with the professor's notes on her blog, have been beneficial in understanding each concept. I also talked about how I disliked how the class began on a Sunday rather than Monday. I guess it's just unusual for students to start on a Sunday because we typically do not have class on Sunday. As a result, we think that Monday should be the start of the week for classes.

  2. Hi ellacomm! :D
I agree that this course was very informative. I don't think there was a dull moment when it came to vocabulary as well. Although I felt the book was only partially beneficial. There were some chapters that could've done better in explaining the concepts. I also agree with you that the beginning and ending times could be improved when posting. Sundays are my day to kinda relax before starting classes again. Since I always end up posting on Monday, I always find myself rushing to learn the material that Sunday before, and that totally ruins my Sunday nights of relaxing...you know what I mean? haha
Good luck on the final! KILL IT!! haha Thank you for always commenting my posts as well. :) It makes my day to know that your always consistent with comments. x]
    Take care!

  3. Hey there !! I agree with you that this class was very informative even though there is no lecture. I feel as if because we do not have lecture we are more forced to read things on our own, which was very true with this class. By reading I feel as if we were able to understand the concepts fully. It also help that the professor put up notes for us to read and students blogs also made things easier to grasp. It is like we are all helping each other learn. I also do not like how it starts on a Sunday instead of a Monday. It kind of mess things a little, especially in the beginning but I got use to it. Well good posting this semester! Good luck on your exams!!

  4. Hey! I also agree with your difficulties of the Sunday rule. I always feel that Sunday is my day for catch-up especially with homework. I ended up always doing my posts on Mondays instead and having to wait for the 12 hour rule to put up each post. I understand that she does that so people don’t slack off and post all on the last day, but I just find it inconvenient for other people who already have their work done. I also hated that I had to wait til the end of of the week to get the comments done. Anyways, good luck with the final! :)

  5. I actually agree with your whole post! I also found this class to be very informative and helpful. This class allowed me to learn many new words and concepts. Before this class, I would catch people using bad arguments and didn’t know how to describe them. Now, I know the specific fallacies that people will use. I also agree with you about the scheduling as well. I would have preferred for the class to start on Mondays rather than Sundays because then it would correlate better with our weekly class schedules. I also enjoyed that this class did not involve a lecture. 

  6. Hello ellacomm!
I enjoyed reading your post and i have to agree with you. This class has been very helpful. I use the knowledge that i had learned from this class in my everyday life. I'm more comfortable talking to customers at work and i feel like all the information we learned in this class is all so useful to use in our daily lives. I also agree that weeks should start from monday to sunday because sundays are days that i feel like i have a lot more time to catch up on my homework and it'll be a great day on sunday to complete my discussion for the week. I also didn't like how we had to have our posts 12 hours apart because it's an online class and people who choose to take online classes probably has a busy schedule like me. Anyways, great job and goodluck on finals next week! :)

  7. hey!
I also agree with your statements. I feel like I would have done better on the discussions if they did not close on a Saturday. I think if it closed maybe on a Wednesday night when I do not really have a life that would be easier to manage. Also, I probably would have had 100% on every discussion if we did not have the time frame requirements. I'm not sure if that was an attempt to make our studying more spread out, but I definitely am the type of guy that cannot study until two or three days before a test. I am the same way with the discussions. If i could have sat down and completed them all at once it would have been much more manageable and enjoyable for me.

Anyways, it was nice reading your blogs and good luck on your final!
